Job Description 

You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY NATURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST/ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/PHYSICAL SCIENTIST in the ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL READINESS DIVISION of IMMEDIATE OFC OF CHIEF OF NVL OPS.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.



Specialized experience includes duties related to the following:


1) Ensuring compliance with all environmental planning, legislation, and regulations while working to further sustaining Fleet and shore operational readiness;


2) Managing and assuring that programs are fiscally balanced, executable, and operating in compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations;


3) Reviewing proposed and final legislation and Presidential Executive Orders to provide policy direction for an Energy and Environmental Readiness program;


4) Developing appropriate policy guidance that enables the execution of both near term and long term goals and objectives;


5) Developing policies based on sound science considering risks, costs, benefits, and impacts to the mission.;


6) Preparing and providing briefs and supporting documentation to senior leadership to justify decisions made regarding resourcing budget requests containing all programmatic details as required;


7) Implementing environmental readiness policies and guidance by interpreting laws and regulations.

Job Duties

You will serve as CNO's senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Marine Resources challenges.

  • You will provide input to Navy-wide Environmental policy and guidance.

  • You will support the full range of Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution; analysis of trends, risks, and opportunities; and evaluation of technologies and practices associated with Navy's environmental planning and conservation programs.

  • You will ensure the Navy remains compliant with all environmental planning requirements.
