Scholarship Program

The National Military Fish and Wildlife Association has established a scholarship program to assist in financing higher education for students studying natural resources management.  We are proud to announce our annual scholarship award for 2024.  The Association intends to award a minimum of two scholarships annually, each in the minimum amount of $500.00.
Our goal is to provide financial aid to students pursuing degrees in wildlife and fisheries biology, botany, ecology, range conservation, forestry, and/or wildlife law enforcement. Awards are given without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.

Anyone who will have sophomore, junior, senior or graduate level standing at a college or university during the fall semester/quarter of the year in which the scholarship is awarded is eligible to receive the scholarship.  Preference will be given to active duty or honorably discharged military service members, members of NMFWA or relatives of NMFWA members and applicants that are currently working or have worked on Department of Defense lands.  Applications are due by June 30, 2024.  The scholarship is awarded during that fall for the upcoming academic year.  Preference will be given to students with a history of experiences, activities, and interests in the field of biology; college course work applicable to field biology; and a 3.0 grade point average. College transcripts and two letters of reference from instructors or past employers must accompany the application form.

The award shall provide a minimum of $500 toward the tuition of the selected student(s) for the fall term during the year in which the scholarship is granted. The funds shall be paid to the Registrar at the college or university being attended, and credited toward the student's tuition for the fall semester/quarter.

Students must complete the application and submit it through this site along with a complete college transcript of grades. All applications must be submitted NO LATER than June 30, 2024.  Applicants are solely responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information.  All information submitted is confidential and will be reviewed only by the NMFWA Scholarship Committee.

You can now apply on-line, just click the button to get started.

Applications, with all attachments, must be submitted on or before June 30, 2024.

Scholarship recipients will be selected based on a variety of factors including a demonstrated need for financial aid; a history of experiences, activities, and interests in the field of biology; college course work applicable to field biology; and 3.0 grade point average.  Scholarships awarded will be based on NMFWA's selection procedures and will be made by the Scholarship Committee.  Unfortunately, not all applicants will receive awards.  All applicants will be notified of their status in August of 2024.

Scholarship payments are made by check in September of 2024 directly to the institution you will be attending.  You will be contacted for your school information, i.e., student account, address, and the like, and notified that payment has been made.

Scholarship recipients must enroll in their educational programs no later than fall of the year in which their awards are given.

The general conditions and procedures under which scholarships are made are subject to periodic review by the National Military Fish and Wildlife Association.
